"The most I can do for my friend is simply to be his friend."

I met this homeless friend on Main Street in Greenville, SC. He allowed me to take his photo which I used as a reference for this drawing.

You are lucky to have met someone on the streets that can talk. Most of the ones I see, can be taken for dead. I am not kidding. One I have tried to help is a woman. She had an education, a good job. Twice now I have seen Her on the street, you would believe she was dead. None responsive. It is just drugs etc. Call the police to remove them from the street is a nightmare.
ReplyDeleteYour portrait is wonderful! I am working on my portrait work. Hopefully, I will posting as you do.

Lovely how you framed his face with the fabric, it echos the oval shapes in this drawing beautifully!
ReplyDeleteGreg what a wonderful portrait and a great tribute to your friend and to the homeless that seem to be forgotten in this country.
